Fill a Housewarming Basket for a Veteran
Join us this Giving Tuesday in filling Housewarming Baskets to CHEP Veterans moving out of CHEP housing and on to independent living.
You can help us make their transition smoother as we gift them with a Housewarming Basket stocked with many of the essentials needed to properly start their journey. Baskets will be filled with a set of dishes, cookware and utensils along with dish soap, hand towels, bath towels and more. These essentials will help make our veterans comfortable and prepared in their new home.
Support can also be sent and made payable to CHEP, Inc. | PO Box 229 | Perryville, MD 21903 | Attn: Housewarming Baskets
Can’t contribute at this time? Consider volunteering to join us in putting together the baskets.
Sponsor a CHEP Veteran
When veterans enter the CHEP transitional housing program, they are provided with funds for groceries, bed and bath essentials, and a cell phone to use for employment and housing purposes, totaling an initial investment of $600, per CHEP veteran. In addition, once veterans move out of transitional housing, we often cover the cost of the security deposit, averaging $700-1000 for their independent living.
This equates to $1300 program investment per CHEP veteran, at a minimum.
Housing Repair Assistance
The Perry Point Transitional Homes are in need of repair. It is our goal to provide our veterans with comfortable and safe housing, and in that effort, we must make consistent updates to these homes.
It will cost $30,000 per home to install a new HVAC system to provide our veterans with adequate heat and air conditioning.

Hire a Veteran
In order for our veterans to successfully transition to independent living, they need steady and secure employment. Employing a CHEP veteran allows them to gain the financial freedom they need for successful living.
Veterans joining your team come with an innate sense of teamwork, leadership and integrity. Their experience in our nation’s military has also provided them with an innovative outlook on technology and globalization, an accelerated learning curve and the ability to work under pressure.
