Keeping OSHA Real: Annual Update. Also Infection Control in Your Hands

This course focuses on new and continuing disease transmission concerns, and trains employees to understand and manage occupational exposure to infectious agents and physical, biological, and chemical hazards. It emphasizes a team approach to office safety and patient protection. Participation is encouraged by using product samples to discuss alternative methods of meeting asepsis standards and by other active demonstrations. Extensive handout includes a copy of OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, updated OSHA forms, references and documentation for exposure incidents, first aid, and slide presentation

Learning Objectives:

Understand OSHA regulations for infection control.
Discuss basic principles of disease transmission.
Recognize signs and symptoms of bloodborne and other diseases
Be familiar with and implement injury and illness prevention programs
Understand the routine application of various infection control products based on accumulated evidence and regulatory reuirements.
Comprehend the variety of acceptable product choices
Understand potential implication of product misuse

Directions:     Take I-95 to Exit 93 (Perryville/Port Deposit Exit). Take MD-222 South towards Perryville (2.0 miles). Take MD 222 across Route 40 (Pulaski Highway) and it will turn into Aiken Avenue. Make a left at the end of Aiken Avenue onto Broad Street. Follow Broad Street and you will see the Perryville Fire House (Minker Banquet Hall) on your right (0.4 miles).
